Synopsis

One fateful night, Brad Majors and his fiancée, Janet Weiss — a wholesome, well-behaved, utterly normal young couple in love — innocently set out to visit an old professor. Unfortunately for them, this night out is destined to be one they will never forget. A thunderstorm and a flat-tire force them to seek help at the castle of Dr. Frank 'N' Furter, an alien, transvestite scientist with a manic genius and insatiable libido. Brad, Janet, and Frank' N' Furter's cohorts are swept up into the scientist's latest experiment.

The night's misadventures will cause Brad and Janet to question everything they've known about themselves, each other, love, and lust. A loving homage to the classic B sci-fi film and horror genres with an irresistible rock'n'roll score and a decidedly Queer Cult following, The Rocky Horror Show is a hilarious, wild ride that no audience will soon forget.

Rated: R for adult language and sexually explicit content

Cast of Characters

DR. FRANK N. FURTER

Baritone D3-G4
A self-indulgent cross-dressing mad scientist/transvestite/master of the castle. He has impeccable comedic timing, an incredibly-forward sense of sexuality, and an irresistible charisma.

BRAD

Bari-Tenor Bb2-G4
A straight-laced, optimistic, stereotypical All-American man. Until he isn't.

JANET

Mezzo-Soprano A3-Eb5
A naive, wholesome, stereotypical All-American girl. Until she isn't.

RIFF RAFF

Rock Tenor D3-B4
Transylvanian brother/lover of Magenta. Disgruntled underling in the castle. A bit creepy. Must have strong rock vocals.

MAGENTA

Mezzo-Soprano Bb3-Eb5
Transylvanian sister/lover of Riff-Raff. A maid in the castle. Slightly scary, overtly sexual.

COLUMBIA

Mezzo-Soprano E4-E5
A groupie who falls in love with Eddie. Quirky, lost soul.

ROCKY

A creation of Frank's—his epitome of "the perfect man."

EDDIE

Baritone F3-F#4
An ill-fated delivery boy with no sense of control or sanity. Emerges from the deep freeze with half his brain and is all rock and roll madness.

DR. SCOTT

Baritone F3-F#4
Mentor of Brad and Janet who senses trouble in the castle. Strong comedic timing and perhaps a German accent.

NARRATOR

Non-Singing Role
Speaks directly to the audience in a professional manner. Must be great with improv as this character has direct interaction with a sometimes very vocal audience.

PHANTOMS

SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass: a combination of voices)
Ever-present, always lurking inhabitants of The Rocky Horror Show. Various body types and vocal ranges. Must be able to move well.
