Arthur Miller's The Crucible

This exciting drama about the Puritan purge of witchcraft in old Salem is both a gripping historical play and a timely parable of our contemporary society. Our production takes a uniquely feminist perspective on this classic show, questioning the conventional roles of villain and victim.

Join us for this powerful and moving story told in a fresh new way with a seriously talented and passionate cast of teen performers! Come early to explore our Salem Witch Trials Mini Museum and dive into the real history our show is based upon. This one is not to be missed!

Life's a Stage Acting & Theater Arts Class Showcase

Join us for the End of Semester Showcase of our Teen Acting Class in partnership with Seven Directions Creative Learning Center! The Showcase consists of 3 short plays that were chosen, directed and performed by the students! The whole show will run about an hour and a half. The plays in the showcase are:

The Yellow Boat: Based on a true story, The Yellow Boat is an exploration of the power of imagination and art's ability to transform lives in the face of overwhelming obstacles, all told through the eyes of 8-year-old Benjamin.

A Game: Three teen girls accept an invitation to take part in an experiment—a game in which a small room is divided into three equal areas—one for each person. As the game progresses, we see the drive that makes each human want to possess more than his neighbors—a drive that causes hatred ... and starts wars.

One Lane Bridge: A snowy night. A drive through a mountain canyon. Two strangers in a car start telling scary stories. It's all fun and games until the stories become all too real and we are left questioning what is fact and what is fiction.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Our current production in our Young Producers Program, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is entirely created, performed and organized by youth creatives under the mentorship of volunteers from Renegade’s team of professionals. Renegade provides a vehicle for teen performers to get the support they need to create theater experiences that previously existed only in their imaginations.

An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. A riotous ride, complete with audience participation, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a delightful den of comedic genius.

Our 2024 Summer Season

Our Mission

Renegade Theater Co. creates opportunities for creatives to explore performing arts in new and exciting ways. Renegade values the process of creating theater collaboratively rather than focusing solely on the product and it prioritizes inclusivity and representation of diversity. Renegade strives for quality artistic expression without sacrificing the mental health of our cast, crew and staff.

We create profound theatrical experiences that allow those involved to grow and learn, and to contribute towards creating a strong and supportive community, both within the company itself and as a part of the greater society that we live in. We believe that art should enhance and enrich the community as a whole by pushing us to think in new ways, and to step outside our comfort zone.
